1.1.1 Street Spirituality: Where Do We Come From?
How do people in the streets answer “where do we come from?” How do you think these beliefs are formed? Are people using reason or are they simply transmitting what they have heard from their parents and grandparents? Can you tell which ones might be the former and which ones the latter? Why do you think some people seem certain and others tentative in their beliefs?
What do you see? Do you see people who have been misguided and led astray? Or do you see people expressing beliefs that are reasonable?
How does what you believe shape how you evaluate the claims being made by the people in the video?
How do your notions of human nature, science, and truth affect your perspectives?
The Madrasa Discourses project proposes that a conciliation of traditional Islamic thought with contemporary scientific and philosophical worldviews can result in orthodox affirmations of human dignity essential for peaceful coexistence in a pluralistic world.
